| Abstract Immune-mediated diseases are a group of disorders resulting from abnormal activation or dysfunction of the immune system, encompassing conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus, ANCA-associated vasculitis, and anti-glomerular basement membrane disease. Conventional treatment has largely relied on glucocorticoids and immunosuppressive agents; however, some patients experience treatment resistance or intolerable adverse effects. Blood purification techniques, which remove pathogenic substances from the blood through extracorporeal circulation, have become one of the effective therapeutic modalities for certain immune-mediated diseases. Nevertheless, the clinical application of blood purification remains fraught with controversies and uncertainties, including appropriate patient selection, timing of initiation, and optimization of treatment modalities. In recent years, several academic organizations worldwide have issued relevant guidelines and expert consensuses, providing important references for clinical practice. This article systematically reviews the research progress and guideline recommendations on the use of blood purification techniques in immune-mediated diseases, and elaborates on key technical parameters in operational protocols, aiming to offer guidance for rational clinical application. |
