| Abstract Severe infections are characterized by rapid progression and a narrow therapeutic window, placing extremely high demands on the timeliness and precision of clinical treatment. In recent years, the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) has provided novel technical pathways for the early warning, precise diagnosis, and therapeutic decision-making of critical infectious diseases. This article systematically reviews the current applications of AI in the management of severe infections, covering core areas such as early warning models, treatment decision support, and the construction of smart intensive care platforms. Using the Tongji "Ling·Gan" Intelligent Diagnosis and Treatment Platform for Severe Infections as a typical case, we summarize the clinical efficacy of AI-assisted treatment for severe infections, discuss the challenges encountered, and prospect future directions for AI application in this field. |
